Federated Media Augments Portfolio of Leading Conversational Media Sites with 'Green Federation'

New Federation Brings Together Top Environmental Authors and Communities Including Inhabitat, Earth2Tech and ViroPop

SAUSALITO, Calif., May 22, 2008 – Federated Media Publishing (FM) today announced the Green Federation, a group of leading environmental communities and websites. The Green Federation is the latest addition to FM’s federations, which include Technology, Business & Marketing, Media & Entertainment, Video Gaming and more. Recognizing the importance of environmental issues to many of today’s large brand advertisers, FM will connect these sites with brand advertisers who desire to align their brands with environmental content and conversations.

“We’re thrilled to join the FM family,” said Jill Fehrenbacher, founder and editor-in-chief of Inhabitat. “We concentrate day in and day out on creating the best green design site on the Web. We’ve always admired the way that FM does business and we couldn’t be happier to be onboard.”

FM will extend existing relationships with major brand advertisers while maintaining the company’s long-standing dedication to transparency in conversational marketing. With more than 50 million unique users, FM’s family of conversational media sites now includes:

Inhabitat, a weblog devoted to the future of design, tracking the innovations in technology, practices and materials that are pushing architecture and home design towards a smarter and more sustainable future.
  • Earth2Tech, part of Giga Omni Media, which keeps members of the supporting eco-ecosystem informed about technology startups, entrepreneurs and university labs working to keep the earth green, the water clean, electricity costs lean and the transport infrastructure running.
  • ViroPop, a green video network from Next New Networks, highlights the most exciting and entertaining things happening in the new eco-revolution. ViroPop is the first network on the Internet to treat environmental pop culture with a sense of irreverent fun.
  • GM Volt, a website all about the newly introduced GM Chevrolet Volt concept car and related topics. This is a non-affiliated, independent site from Dr. Lyle Dennis, a committed advocate for widespread use of alternative energy and petroleum displacement.
  • “These are some of the best destinations on the Web for environmental content and community interaction,” said Neil Chase, vice president of author services at FM. “We’ve developed relationships with brand advertisers who want to put their green messaging in front of people who read and discuss the environment, and now we have more great sites to offer them.”
