Save your grass and put the kiddie pool on the patio
Sam's tip for giving your lawn a fighting chance against the kiddie pool this summer:
One of the annoying things about the inflatable swimming pools is that they kill the grass, but if you combine them with foam letters you get a great way to put the pool on the patio...

Spray bottle makes cool (and water-saving) fun during the summer
Annmarie's hack uses far less water than the kiddie pool or the sprinkler:
Buy a 24oz empty spray bottle and fill it with water. [Check the bottle to make sure the trigger is easy for small hands to pump. -- Ed.] Let them spray all the plants, bushes, windows, matchbox cars, etc... outside. My 2 year-old will spray for hours on a hot day. And, it takes forever to get through the entire bottle of water! ...

Sprinkler hose may be a better solution for toddler lawn water play
Here's how Tracy tweaks backyard sprinkler play:
The comment about the slide in the kiddie pool (which we also do!) reminded me of the a hack I've been using for years. My kids don't like to play in the standard oscillating lawn sprinkler that goes back and forth up in the air. I've found what works great for us is a sprinkler hose...

Baby food stains come clean in a sunbath
Jenn's hack may bring back some of your given-up-for-lost baby clothes:
I found countless baby clothes ruined when my infant started eating baby food. No amount of stain treatment or bleach would get out stubborn carrot, squash, or sweet potato stains. My mother in-law gave me the best tip ever- treat the stains, wash the clothes as usual, and then lay them out in the sun while still wet...

Mini pizza pan as "lipped" food plate for kids
