Heather Armstrong
Heather Armstrong; Founder, Dooce

Heather is a writer and accidental entrepreneur living in Salt Lake City, Utah with her geek husband, three-year-old daughter and catlike dog. She started Dooce© in February of 2001, was fired for her writing there in February of 2002 and chronicled the birth of her child Leta in 2004. Heather also wrote extensively about her battle with post-partum depression and her experience being hospitalized. In late 2005, traffic was high enough on dooce.com to start running graphic ads and the subsequent income was enough to support her family.

Through her writing on dooce, Heather has received numerous awards and honors. Dooce was chosen as a Top 50 website by Time magazine in 2005 and stands, as of this writing, as one of the only personal sites written by a woman in the Technorati Top 100. Heather has appeared as a panelist on CNN, been featured on ABC World News Tonight and Good Morning America, and been profiled in the New York Times, Washington Post magazine and on NPR.



Jon Armstrong
Jon Armstrong; Founder, Dooce

Jon is a husband, father, consultant, art director, designer, nerd dilettante web developer and dog wrangler with interests in photography, snowboarding and music. He has 14 years of online experience across publishing, advertising and marketing for numerous brands and properties including Unilever, Sega, CNet, eBay, RedHerring.com, Unilever and most lately forming Armstrong Media, LLC with his wife, Heather Armstrong of Dooce©.

Jon has won awards for his groundbreaking advertising work and has been published in JPG Magazine, Red Herring, URB and grid magazine. His writing and photography can be seen on his personal site, blurbomat.com.



Paul Beck
Paul Beck; Senior Partner, Ogilvy

Paul, Senior Partner, Executive Director of Interactive Marketing and Advertising leads interactive marketing, strategy and programs across Ogilvy, NY. He oversees a team of

Interactive Marketing Directors and Strategists across the Ogilvy Client base. Paul personally provides the Ogilvy global digital leadership on American Express, Cisco, Unilever/Dove, and many other clients. His experience spans telecommunications, wireless, financial services and technology industries which is consistent throughout his career in both B2C and B2B. Paul has extensive client-side ecommerce expertise as well as unique background in email marketing and rewards programs.

Paul is also the Founder and leader of Ogilvy Voice, Ogilvy's Social Marketing Practice. Paul is a Co-Founder of the Email Experience Council, the world's largest email trade organization.

Prior to OgilvyInteractive, Paul led the creation and delivery of rewards-based partner-marketing programs for clients as SVP of Marketing and Sales for Affinity Solutions. These programs include merchant-funded cash-back, rewards, eCommerce and segment focused value-added content. These programs are multi-channel with primary foundation, Interactive. Clients included H&R Block, GEICO, and Chase.

Before joining Affinity Solutions, Paul Beck was Vice President of Strategic Client Services and Sales for Bigfoot Interactive, a leading provider of email communications strategy and deployment solutions. While there, he led the development of a vertical team approach, which brought Bigfoot Interactive domination in target industries, including financial services, telecommunications, automotive, travel and entertainment, and not-for-profit.

Paul's client side experience in eCommerce and Digital Marketing spans nearly 7 years. He held the position of VP of Direct and Interactive Marketing at Quantex and Cybermax Computer, Tier One competitors to Dell, Gateway and HP. As leader of the marketing and advertising function, he helped grow these divisions of Fountain Technologies from $40MM to $380MM in revenue in under 6 years.

In his hometown of Middletown, NJ, Paul leads the marketing efforts as a board member of the Ryan Andrew Kaiser Memorial Foundation, a not-for-profit focused on serving the families of critically ill children. He has a wife and three children.

Laura Desmond

One of the youngest CEOs to lead a marketing services company, Laura manages nearly 2,000 marketing professionals in the communication industry's most robust and active geographical territory. In 2007, Laura orchestrated the launch of SMG Multicultural and extended SMG's multicultural footprint by launching 42 Degrees at MediaVest.

Prior to running the Americas, Laura served as CEO of MediaVest from 2003 to 2007, overseeing a period of enormous growth for the agency. She piloted MediaVest to a host of new business assignments from powerful clients such as Coca-Cola, Comcast, Masterfoods, Mattel, P&G, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Wal-Mart, and Wendy's.

Sarah Fay
Sarah Fay; President, Isobar US

In her role as President of Isobar U.S., Sarah manages the growth and integration strategy for Isobar services in the U.S. Today, these services include Carat Fusion, Molecular, iProspect, Freestyle and Ammo Marketing.

In the year 2000, Sarah took on the challenge to envision, launch, and grow Carat Interactive (now Carat Fusion), the U.S. digital hub for Carat Americas. After the launch of Carat Interactive, Sarah converted what began as an interactive media shop, to a full service digital marketing agency, which claims premiere clients such as Pfizer, RadioShack, adidas/Reebok, Coca-Cola, Wachovia, and AOL. As part of this endeavor, Sarah led the charge to acquire and integrate six specialist digital marketing firms - Vizium, Lot 21, Freestyle, iProspect, Molecular, and most recently ammo marketing - services which have added creative, CRM, Search Engine Marketing, Internet Consulting, and Word of Mouth capabilities to the Isobar offerings, building toward a fully developed network of digital and one-to-one marketing services.

Sarah has been noted as one of the Top 50 People to Know by MediaPost in 2004, one of MediaPost's Media 100 Influentials in 2005, she was an Adweek Media All Star in 2004, and was named one of Ad Age's 25 Women to Watch in 2005.



Josh Felser
Josh Felser; Co-President, Crackle

Josh co-founded Crackle in 2004. In August 2006, Sony acquired the company and Josh currently serves as Co-President. Since Crackle’s purchase, traffic numbers have tripled, and it was re-launched this past July (formerly known as Grouper). Prior to starting Crackle, Josh was President and co-founder of Spinner.com, the leading multi-channel Internet music service. Two years after founding Spinner.com, AOL acquired the company. At AOL, Josh served as VP and GM of its music brands. Josh began his career in traditional media as an executive at Fox Inc. and British Sky Broadcasting LTD.

Josh is actively involved on the board of the Bay Area Video Coalition, a nonprofit media arts center. He holds a BA and MBA from Duke University and he currently lives in Northern California with his wife and three children.



Shawn Gold
Shawn Gold; SVP Marketing & Content, MySpace.com

Shawn Gold is head of marketing and content development for the global social networking web site. MySpace.com focuses on personal expression, human connection and the discovery of popular culture, and has become an internet phenomenon. Gold joined MySpace.com earlier this year with 14 years of experience in digital marketing and content strategy, including serving as publisher of WeblogsInc, the largest publisher of professional blogs on the Web. He was president and chief strategist of Intermix . Additionally, he headed marketing and communications for WHN, an ecommerce company that provided marketing services to the 2002 Olympics, ABC, NBC, Comedy Central, MTV and Fox.

Prior to WHN.com, Shawn served as head of strategic planning at Rare Medium where he created the inaugural interactive communication strategies for P&G, General Foods, Mattel and Nestle. He started developing interactive content in 1992 as a partner with TouchTunes Interactive, a telecommunications music marketing service in the USA, Japan and New Zealand. He is a founding board member of the Producers Guild of America's New Media Council and author of The Guide to Laughing at Life book series that promotes wellness through laughter.

Curt Hecht
Curt Hecht; EVP, Chief Digital Officer, Starcom MediaVest Group

Curt Hecht manages worldwide corporate digital strategy for Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG). With a dedicated client focus on General Motors, he provides guidance on building capabilities in a fast-paced digital marketplace. He pioneered and now oversees SMG's digital partnerships and relationships with digital media companies (i.e. Google, Yahoo!).

The 16-year SMG veteran has serviced United Airlines, 7-Up, McDonald's and Morgan Stanley. He also opened a San Francisco office for Starcom in 1999.

Hecht is an active member of the AAAA advanced television committee, ad:tech Advisory Group and i20. An avid road cyclist, he founded an award-winning 20-member elite cycling team.



Carla Hendra
Carla Hendra; Co-CEO, Ogilvy North America

Named Co-Chief Executive Officer of Ogilvy North America in 2005, Carla oversees Ogilvy's advertising, direct marketing, digital, promotion, B2B, loyalty, healthcare, digital media and public relations units in the U.S. and Canada. Key clients include IBM, American Express, Yahoo!, TD AMERITRADE, Unilever, Allstate, Cisco and Wyeth.

Carla served as the first-ever female jury chair of the Cannes Advertising Festival when she presided over the 2001 Cyber Lions. She was named Advertising Woman of the Year by AWNY in 2005. Carla is a member of the Board and the Executive Committee of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and is also a member of the 4As Board of Directors.



Casey Jones
Casey Jones; VP Marketing, Dell

Casey joined Dell in April of 2007 after three years at McCann Worldgroup where he was the network's Chief Strategy Officer for technology accounts, included Microsoft and Intel. Prior to McCann, Casey was Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Grey Global Group's worldwide technology practice and CEO of Grey's integrated San Francisco agency, which included such clients as Oracle, VERITAS, and McAfee. Other technology marketing campaigns Casey has worked on or developed include Alcatel, Trilogy, StorageTek, CommerceOne and Red Hat.

Casey is a former United States Marine. His interests include his family, philosophy, changing the world and the evolution of global marketing.



Patrick Keane
Patrick Keane; EVP, CMO, CBS Interactive

Patrick Keane was named Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer at CBS Interactive, in February 2007. Keane oversees the implementation of systems to market and sell CBS content on a growing variety of emerging media platforms and expand the Company's roster of advertisers. In addition to working on sales strategy, he manages CBS Interactive's efforts in online research, reporting and analytics as well as competitive research, sales training and search engine optimization.

Prior to joining CBS, Keane spent more than four years at Google. He served as Head of Advertising Sales Strategy, overseeing the group responsible for developing and managing the strategic plans and relationships critical to growing Google's advertising customer base. Keane also built and led Google's North American Field Marketing team, an organization comprising industry marketing, sales analytics, sales marketing, and corporate events.

Prior to Google, Keane was Vice President and Senior Analyst at Jupiter Research where he contributed to all facets of their marketing and media research, as well as the company's conference division and business development.



Jeff Lanctot
Jeff Lanctot; Senior Vice President, Avenue A | Razorfish

Jeff oversees Avenue A | Razorfish’s global media business. In his eight years with the agency, Jeff and his teams have developed digital branding strategies, segmentation models and customer acquisition and retention programs on behalf of clients such as Disney, Coors, Expedia, Nike, Microsoft, Best Buy and WeightWatchers.

Jeff currently oversees our media buying and planning staff and manages more than $542 million in digital media spending (2006 figures) on behalf of clients. He's also responsible for the publication of Avenue A | Razorfish's annual Digital Outlook Report, which gives an in-depth look at what publishers are spending online and industry trends.

Jeff is a graduate of Washington State University and is a recipient of Advertising Age's "Media Maven" Award, MEDIAWEEK's "Media All-Star" award, B2B Magazine's "Best Brightest Media Strategist" award, and was named one of Media Magazine's "50 Most Influential People in Online Advertising."



Jim Lanzone
Jim Lanzone; CEO, Ask.com

As CEO of Ask.com, Jim Lanzone is responsible for overseeing world-wide business operations. Ask.com is one of the world's leading search engines, with more than 20 million users per month, offering unique tools and technologies that make search better. Previous to his role as CEO, Lanzone served as senior vice president and general manager of Ask.com US, leading product management, marketing and engineering for the Company. Lanzone joined Ask.com as vice president of product management in 2001.

Prior to his tenure at Ask.com, Lanzone co-founded eTour, an early provider of information retrieval and cost-per-lead services on the Web, and served as president until it was acquired by Ask.com in May 2001. eTour launched in 1997 and under Lanzone's direction, became a top 50 website and the Web's #1 ranked site in user frequency in 1998 and 1999 (Media Metrix). Additionally, eTour was rated "A+" by Entertainment Weekly. Earlier, Lanzone worked in product marketing for KnowX.com, a division of the Thomson Corporation and one of the Internet's leading providers of public record search.



David Lawee
David Lawee; Vice President, Marketing, Google

As vice president, Marketing, David Lawee has global responsibility for all Google marketing activities. His worldwide mandate encompasses product marketing, field marketing, customer analytics, creative and advertising, as well as directing all of Google's regional marketing groups in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

Initially hired to expand Corporate Development at Google, David brings significant entrepreneurial and general management experience to his role. David co-founded Xfire, a leading online gaming community, where he led product development, marketing and international business development. Within 2 years of launch, Xfire became the fastest growing Internet gaming site with over 5 million registered users. Xfire was sold to Viacom in early 2006.

David's prior experience includes co-founding 3 other startups including Mosaic Venture Partners, a leading Toronto-based venture capital firm. He also worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company where he served a wide variety of multi-national clients. David holds degrees in Law and Philosophy from McGill University and the University of Western Ontario respectively, as well as an MBA from University of Chicago.



 
Ross Levinsohn; Former President, Fox Interactive Media

As president of FIM, Ross was responsible for creating the founding strategy, managing its growing stable of Internet assets and pursuing strategic investments to expand News Corp.’s online presence. He led the acquisitions of MySpace.com, IGN.com, Newroo, KSolo, and Scout.com, and led the FIM Network of sites to become one of the largest on the Internet. Reaching more than 130 million people worldwide, FIM’s Network including FoxSports.com, Fox.com, RottenTomatoes.com, Askmen.com. Previously Ross served as SVP and General Manager of Fox Sports Interactive Media.

Prior to joining Fox, Ross served as Vice President and Executive Producer of the AltaVista Network, as Vice President, Programming and Executive Producer of CBS Sportsline, as Director of Production and Marketing Enterprises for HBO, and he represented a variety of athletes for ProServ, Inc., a leading sports marketing and management company. He began his career at Saatchi and Saatchi in New York, and worked at the sports public relations firm Lapin and Rose. Ross currently serves on the board of Napster.com.



Daina Middleton
Daina Middleton; Dir, Global Interactive Marketing , Imaging and Printing Group, HP

Daina Middleton is the Global Interactive Director for HP's Imaging and Printing Group (IPG). The Interactive team's mission is to provide leadership, drive integration, and establish standards across IPG globally in Interactive marketing focusing on Search Marketing, (SEM & SEO), Social Media, & cross media effectiveness for IPG.

Daina has over 20 years of marketing communications experience in the business-to-business, consumer, and non-profit markets. Prior to her current role, she managed HP's worldwide SMB interactive marketing across the product portfolio and, as a 14 year HP IPG veteran, has at one time or another held key marketing communications positions across most of the core segments in HP's printer businesses.

Beyond work, Daina lives on a horse ranch with her family in Idaho. She has three children, ranging in age from 13 to 19, and raises Iberian horses for fun.



Daina Middleton
Jon Miller; Former Chairman & CEO, AOL Inc

Mr Miller has served in positions of senior executive responsibility in both traditional and digital media for 25 yrs. Most recently as Chairman and CEO of AOL, Inc he led the transformation of its business model from a dialup ISP to a global web business. Previously, as CEO of USA Information and Services (now IACI), he oversaw a portfolio of leading digital transactional businesses. For Viacom, Miller oversaw cable channels, program production, program distribution and merchandising for Nickelodeon globally. While at the National Basketball Assoc, Miller was responsible for global programming and branding. He is an honors graduate of Harvard College, and serves on the Boards of the American Film Institute, Idearc Inc, Emerson College, and a number of early stage digital media companies in which he is also an investor.



Markos Moulitas
Markos Moulitsas; Founder and Publisher, Daily Kos

Markos is founder and publisher Daily Kos, one of the largest community sites in the world with about 20 million monthly pageviews and certainly one of the most influential. He is also founder of the SB Nation network of sports blogs – the premier sports blog network, and co-founder of Vaster Books, and is co-author of the critically acclaimed book Crashing the Gate: Netroots, Grassroots, and the Rise of People-Powered Politics.

Markos was named one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the world by People en Español, clocked in at third in Forbe’s Web Celeb 25 rankings, and was listed 26th in PC World’s list of the "Most Important People on the Web".



Ask a Ninja
Kent Nichols; Writer, Performer, Beatbox Giant Productions

Kent Nichols is a storyteller, technology geek, and goofball. Kent dropped out of college and dedicated his life to comedy and filmmaking. While training at the Second City Conservatory, learned how to make funny movies with only his friends, an iMac, and a MiniDV camera. In 2003, his film, Baggage, won the International 48 Hour Film Project and Scott Billups called him "the future of the Entertainment industry" in his book Digital Moviemaking. In 2005, Kent, along with writing partner Douglas Sarine, created AskANinja.com. Kent lives in West Hollywood with his computers and video cameras.



Chris Peterson
Chris Peterson; CEO, Chautauqua Communications

Chris has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, most of which has been dedicated to the development of leading edge services. He was founder of FusionDM, a direct response and interactive agency that pioneered the application of online media to direct response marketing. FusionDM was acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2001 where he became CEO of Publicis Dialog in San Francisco. At Publicis, Chris managed global direct and interactive work for HP, as well as direct and interactive work for Microsoft, Sprint, Whirlpool, and other clients. In 2005, he founded Chautauqua Communications to address the dramatic changes taking place in how customers form decisions. At Chautauqua, he manages marketing programs for Microsoft, WebEx, Vonage, and other clients. He is also the author of April 2007 article for AdMap Magazine, titled The Creative Destruction of Advertising.



Suzie Reider
Suzie Reider; Head of Advertising Sales, Youtube

Suzie Reider is the head of advertising sales at YouTube. She is responsible for overseeing YouTube's advertising sales and marketing teams.

Prior to joining YouTube this past summer, Suzie was senior vice president and general manager of the Games and Entertainment Division at CNET Networks, Inc. which includes GameSpot, TV.com and MP3.com. At CNET Networks, Suzie oversaw all aspects of the business including, product development, ad sales, marketing strategy and online advertising research trends.

Before joining CNET Networks, Suzie spent 14 years with Ziff-Davis publishing where she leveraged her expertise in advertising sales, promotions, events, research and marketing for various computer and video gaming publications.

Suzie received a B.A. in English from Middlebury College. A native of Cambridge, MA she now lives in San Francisco with her husband and two YouTube fan daughters.



Nancy Reyes
Nancy Reyes; Global Account Director, Goodby, Silverstein and Partners

By day, Nancy runs the global HP PC business at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. (Actually, she does this by night too.) Under her leadership, Goodby developed and launched "The Computer is Personal Again" campaign featuring celebrities like Jay Z, Pharrell Williams, Vera Wang and Serena Williams all using computers from HP. This work has helped fuel HP’s momentum enabling them to pass Dell and assume the lead market share position for PCs around the world. Advertising Age named the work as their Campaign of the Year for 2006.

A native New Yorker, Nancy also spent time at D’Arcy and Ogilvy & Mather in New York after graduating from Harvard University.



James Rose
James Rose; Vice President, Brand and Global Marketing Communications, Symantec

Jim Rose is the Vise President of Brand and Global Marketing Communications for Symantec the world’s fourth largest software company. Since joining Symantec in the fall of 2005 he has been responsible for merging and managing the Symantec, VERITAS, and Norton brands as well as ongoing Marketing Communications efforts for the company.

Prior to joining Symantec Jim was head of Marketing Communications for the Citibank Internet Payments division, VP of Interactive Marketing for IBM.com and VP of Brand and Marketing Communications for the IBM Software group.

The first half of his career was spent at advertising agencies such as McCann-Erickson, Oglivy & Mather and Foote, Cone Belding working with a wide range of clients including Lucent, Compaq Computer, Xerox, and Learjet.

Jim started his marketing career in 1983 after a stint as a corporate pilot for Miles Laboratories (which prompted him to earn an MBA in Marketing from Indiana University).



Kevin Rose
Kevin Rose; Founder, Digg

Kevin Rose is the founder and chief architect of Digg. He oversees all aspects of the management and development of the Web site. Kevin started Digg in September 2004 as a personal project. Kevin is also a co-founder of the Internet Television Network Revision3. Kevin co-hosts the extremely popular Revision3 show, Diggnation, a weekly video podcast based on digg.com news stories and content.

Prior to founding Digg and Revision3, Kevin was a co-host of the popular technology television programs Attack of the Show on the G4 Network and The Screen Savers on TechTV. Prior to that, Kevin worked for several technology startups as well as for the U.S. Department of Energy.



Randall Rothenberg
Randall Rothenberg; President & CEO, Interactive Advertising Bureau

Randall Rothenberg is the president and CEO of the Interactive Advertising Bureau, the trade association for interactive marketing in the United States. The IAB represents over 300 leading interactive companies; members are responsible for selling over 86% of online advertising in the U.S.

Before assuming leadership of the IAB in 2007, Mr. Rothenberg was the Senior Director of Intellectual Capital of Booz Allen Hamilton, where he oversaw business development, knowledge management, and thought leadership activities, and directed the award-winning quarterly business magazine strategy+business, Strategy+Business Books, and other electronic and print publications published by Booz Allen for senior business executives.

Prior to Booz Allen, Mr. Rothenberg spent six years at The New York Times, where he was the technology editor and politics editor of the Sunday magazine, the daily advertising columnist, and a media and marketing reporter. Mr. Rothenberg is the author of Where the Suckers Moon: An Advertising Story (Alfred A. Knopf, 1994), a critically-acclaimed chronicle of the birth, evolution, and death of a single advertising campaign.



Marc Ruxin
Marc Ruxin, SVP, Director of Digital Marketing, McCann WorldGroup

Marc brings 15 years of experience in digital marketing, strategy, business development and planning to McCann. Before joining McCann, Marc was the COO of The Mill Group, running the North American divisions of The Mill and Beam.tv. Prior to The Mill Marc was the EVP of Strategy at Gyro International, and the Vice President of Business Development at iVast and at Eveo, Inc., both VC backed next generation media technology companies. Before that Marc worked for WPP Group plc., where he was an MBA Marketing Fellow and ultimately lead West Coast new media strategy for the group. Before WPP, Marc worked in A&R at EMI Records. Marc has a BA from Hamilton College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.



Ask a Ninja
Douglas Sarine; Writer, Performer, Beatbox Giant Productions

Douglas Sarine is a writer, performer and idiot who lives in Los Angeles. He co-created the online series Ask A Ninja with creative partner Kent Nichols. He is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory and has appeared on shows like NBC's The Office, HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Douglas lives in Los Angeles and performs regularly at the I.O. West comedy club and with the Irish punk band The Mighty Regis.



Tina Sharkey
Tina Sharkey; Chairman and Global President, BabyCenter, LLC

As Chairman of BabyCenter, LLC Tina oversees the global operations and strategic vision for BabyCenter.com. Under her leadership, she's responsible for managing all aspects of BabyCenter's global media and commerce business. Tina also spearheads BabyCenter sites around the world.

Prior to joining BabyCenter, Tina was a senior executive at America Online, Inc., and led all of AOL's social networking initiatives, overseeing the Instant Messaging and Social Media groups, as well as new acquisitions including Weblogs Inc. Throughout her tenure, she also oversaw AOL's launch of AOL.com and led the Network Programming across the Network of 116 million monthly unique visitors.

Before AOL, she served as Group President of Sesame Workshop's Online Services, creating their award-winning Internet business, and collaborated on a new home shopping channel, Q2, a division of QVC. Tina also helped launch the Adobe Acrobat and New York 1 brands and has managed corporate brand strategies for Time Warner, QVC and Sony. In 1995, Tina coined the phrase "Social Media" as co-founder and Chief Community Architect of iVillage.com.

He frequently spends far too much time evangelizing the merits of flickr and far too little time working on the t-shirt brand he helped launch with his friend Doug. The range was once described as "the most controversial t-shirts in New York" and featured in books on t-shirt culture. They have been profitably pirated in Thailand and if you're lucky are still on sale in boutiques in LA, Tokyo, Shanghai and New York.



Jeff Weiner

Jeff Weiner serves as executive vice president of Yahoo!'s Network Division and is a key member of the company's executive team. In this role, Weiner oversees the majority of Yahoo!'s consumer-facing assets including Yahoo.com, Search, the Community and social media properties such as Groups, Flickr and Bix, Communications products such as Mail and Messenger, as well as the media properties under News and Information and Entertainment.

From 2002 to 2006, Weiner served as senior vice president overseeing the Yahoo! Search and Marketplaces division which included Search as well as Local, Shopping, Travel and Autos businesses. Beginning in November 2005, Weiner added responsibilities for Yahoo Search Marketing and Yahoo! Small Business.

During his tenure, Weiner was part of the Search leadership team that directed the acquisition and integration of Inktomi, AltaVista, FAST and the development of Yahoo! Search Technology. Additionally, he helped launch the company's suite of social search products Ð including Yahoo! Answers Ð and led the acquisitions of del.icio.us and Flickr. He was also part of the leadership team that oversaw the company's revitalized Search Marketing efforts. While overseeing Search and Marketplace, Weiner also helped establish the Technology Development Group, a team focused on technology incubation and evangelism which has since evolved into Yahoo!'s corporate-wide Advanced Product Team.

From 2001 to 2002, Weiner was the senior vice president of corporate development at Yahoo!, where he was responsible for overseeing the development and modification of overall corporate and individual business unit strategy as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to Yahoo!, Weiner was the co-founder of Windsor Digital, a private equity firm focused on digital and media investments. From 1994 to 2000, he worked at Warner Bros., where after starting in the corporate planning and development group, he helped conceive the initial plan for Warner Bros. Online and played a key role in developing and overseeing the division.

Weiner holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael Zimbalist

Michael Zimbalist became vice president, research & development operations of The New York Times Company in January 2006.

Mr. Zimbalist leads the development and management of the newly formed R&D group. He clarifies and sets the group's vision to build a vibrant, long-term innovation capability for the Company. As an extension of the development aspect of this group, he is also leading Boston.com into its next phase of growth and oversee mobile technology initiatives for the Company.

Before joining the Company, Mr. Zimbalist headed the Online Publishers Associations. He joined the OPA in 2001 as acting executive director and advanced to executive director and then president in 2004. Previously he was executive vice president of marketing and business development at ePod Corporation from 1999 until 2001. From 1997 until 1999 he was a general manager of online services at United Media, and from 1995 until 1997 he was a director of development and production and creative director for the Multimedia Group at Capital Cities / ABC. From 1993 until 1995 he was a senior producer at AT&T Downtown Digital, and from 1990 until 1993 he was a writer/producer at Walt Disney Imagineering. Before that, he was a freelance writer and producer since 1982.

Mr. Zimbalist received a B.A. degree in chemistry and philosophy from Brown University in 1979.
