Announcing BingTweets

A few months ago, FM, Twitter and Microsoft announced a groundbreaking partnership in the form of ExecTweets. See here for Twitter’s blog post announcement. This has proven to be an enormously successful site that offers a curated Twitter stream from leading business executives – all in one easy to find (and follow) format.
Now we are elated to announce BingTweets, created in partnership with Microsoft’s Bing search engine.
BingTweets combines Twitter trends with Bing search results, enabling users to see deeper, real-time information about the hottest topics on Twitter. Search for anything in the BingTweets search box (at the top right of every page) and see Bing search results alongside the most recent related tweets.
Check it out and enjoy!!!

Wow! This is really innovative. Maybe I’ll search via bing more often now.

  2. ExecTweets was pretty cool when it was rolled out, but it was basically just a fancy aggregation page for a bunch of tweets. THIS project is truly a feat, taking two aspects of search (real-time, historical) and mashing them up into one easy to use, lovely to look at format.
I also love the inclusion of the trending topics from Twitter, giving the user some suggestions as to what they might be interested in searching for.

The idea of Bing + Twitter is a very a good concept. However, I think the page would be a lot better if the Bing search results where in an iFrame. I say this because it would be very easy for another website to mimic the concept. It would be much better to the integration of twitter results and bing results on the same page
but I still think the concept of search results + twitter providing realtime search information is heading towards the right direction.
