CM Summit Day 1 Recap

Day 1 at the CM Summit was packed with media and marketing industry friends and colleagues. We had great conversations with leading marketers in the space, heard some major announcements from awesome companies, and learned best practices from innovative publishers.
We heard case study presentations from P&G, Intel, Google, Lenovo, Mahalo, Comcast and Mashery. We had a major announcement from comScore’s Magid Abraham – the company unveiled Media Metrix 360, a new measurement methodology that they call “the web’s first true currency.” SocialMedia‘s Seth Goldstein detailed the company’s social ad products that leverage MySpace, Twitter and more. Microsoft’s Scott Howe discussed Bing, the company’s new search product, as well as the display advertising business. We had great conversations about the future of publishing with a cross-section of old media moguls and new media upstarts like HuffingtonPost and The Pioneer Woman. And we talked about the state of the ad agency business with agency executives from shops like Starcom MediaVest and Omnicom Media Group.
Phew! But that’s just the beginning. Now, ready for day 2: AmEx, Facebook, Intel, GE, AT&T, and many more.

Comments:

  1. Just a strange sidenote (+ maybe a question for NYC readers ;)
I saw Lou Reed play in an off-Broadway theater pretty much exactly 20 years ago (“New York” tour). It could have been the Hudson Theater (but perhaps it wasn’t?) It looks familiar – but it seems kind of far fetched.
Of course since 1989 is more/less “prehistoric” in Internet time, I can’t find any information about WHICH theater it was … so if anyone happens to know,… — well, I was just curious! :) nmw

  2. Tolga Katas says:

didn’t have a chance to catch it due to schedule conflicts, but thanks for all the updates on site and twitter.
