Infused with brainy wit and outspoken irreverence, Sweetney chronicles the life of Tracey Gaughran-Perez, an overeducated thirtysomething stay-at-home mom from Baltimore. Mother to a spirited preschooler and a psychotic pug, Tracey also co-runs the very popular entertainment & gossip blog MamaPop, and has been featured on NPR, CBC Radio (Canada), and in print media such as The Washington Post and The Baltimore Sun. Described by one reader as "a big wet tongue-kiss for all the stuff you wish you knew about first... where the cool girl schools the rest of us," Sweetney has attracted a devoted fan-base.
Press: National Public Radio (NPR); CBC Radio (Canada); The Baltimore Sun; The Washington Post. [Sweetney is] like a big wet tongue-kiss for all the stuff you wish you knew about first... where the cool girl schools the rest of us. I think probably most readers of parenting blogs are familiar with Sweetney, she's kind of the hip, fun Mom who has an unapologetic and wholly wonderful gritty edge... I used to have smoke breaks, now I have Sweetney breaks, and I am a much better person for it. I love sweetney.com because it’s different and exciting and, most importantly, cool. Visiting there, listening in, and occasionally participating in the comments makes me feel like i’m hangin with the cool kids... Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, sometimes informational – always interesting. Tracey is too damn awesome to be considered just a "mommyblogger." The term "mommyblogger" makes me want to puke, however. You should make up a new word for Tracey and it should be something like Awesometastic-kickassticblogger or Blondiewilldestroyyablogger or omgwtfbbqblogger. | ||
