Federated Media Publishing Hires Michael Gutkowski as Executive Vice President of Operations; Pete Spande Promoted to CMO

 

Digital Media Vet With More Than Twenty Years of Operational Expertise Will Lead Company’s Editorial, Content Partnership and Ad Sales Operations

 

SAN FRANCISCO, July 28, 2011 Federated Media Publishing, which powers the best of the Independent Web at scale, today announced that Michael Gutkowski has joined the company as Executive Vice President, Operations. Gutkowski will oversee Federated Media's leading conversational marketing programs, ad targeting products and ad sales operations for the company.


Gutkowski comes to Federated Media Publishing with more than twenty years experience in the digital media and advertising industries, where he focused on growing online media properties and ecommerce. Gutkowski’s impressive background includes senior leadership positions at a number of major media companies, among them Time Incorporated, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, NBCUniversal and The Hearst Corporation. He will be based in Federated Media’s New York City office and will report directly to CEO Deanna Brown.

 

It was also announced today that Pete Spande has been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer and will oversee sales and marketing, partner management, events and communications for Federated Media. Spande, who joined the company in 2007 and previously served as Federated Media’s senior vice president of sales, will remain in the company’s New York office and will also report directly to Deanna Brown.
