Account Executive
The Account Executive is responsible for driving advertising and sponsorship revenue through direct sales (prospecting, closing business and managing renewals) within a defined territory as well as being accountable for a quarterly sales quota. The Account Executive will continually prospect for new business opportunities, build strategic relationships and secure incremental/growth revenue. The candidate must be extremely knowledgeable and passionate about online media and the web as a marketing platform -- especially conversational media (blogs, social networks, online video, etc.), be detail-oriented and have a proven track record of profitable sales, relationship building, and customer retention. Successful candidates will also demonstrate an ability to listen well to client needs and have the creativity to develop advertising programs that exceed their expectations.
Essential Functions of the Job (main duties):
- Meet or exceed quarterly sales quota
- Grow territory revenue to meet and exceed revenue goals
- Review RFPs and make solid recommendations
- Participate in the development of account strategies for long term revenue growth
- Produce regular forecast reports and call reports to keep sales and executive management aware of account activity
- Secure strategic level relationships with client/agency contacts
- Coordinate with and direct Sales Coordinator in resolving territory maintenance issues
- Be the territory liaison for multiple internal teams
- Accurate and timely communication to Regional Sales Manager of all relevant information regarding revenue and or advertiser relationships
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of conversational media online. They will understand the new dynamics of today's online media landscape. They will demonstrate an ability to think creatively, sell strategically, and communicate efficiently internally and externally. They will have a strong desire to win, keep their territories organized, and continually develop their personal and professional skills.
Requirements of the job, including education and experience:
- 2-3 years of advertising sales experience
- Good listener and problem solver
- Strong computer skills (Mac/PC)
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Have the ability to manage stress well, and juggle multiple account challenges at once
- Outstanding telephone skills
- Demonstrated analytical ability
- Proven sales and account service achievement
- BS/BA degree or equivalent training and experience
