Editorial Assistant

The Editorial Assistant will manage content for a destination web publication. This position will be working for a lead Editor and a General Manager, managing a large corporate content initiative.

Essential Functions of the job (main duties):

  • Managing an editorial calendar
  • Collecting content from contributors
  • Copy editing
  • Formatting
  • Posting content to the main web site
  • Tagging content categories and related articles
  • Assigning images to written content

Requirements of the job, including education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 or more years of editorial or account management experience Recent experience editing and publishing online.
  • Familiarity with HTML and or WordPress.
  • A love of media and experience in advertising, marketing or Internet industries.
  • Ability to be an effective team player with exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Confident, energetic self-starter who is positive, focused, dependable, proactive, independent, resourceful and creative, and possesses a “can do” attitude.
